Enjoy digging into Rome’s past with a volunteer organization working to preserve the natural and cultural heritage of the area since 1963. The experience will take place at the Villa of the Colonnacce located at the old gates of Rome. Here you will begin with a guided tour of the site where you’ll learn about the daily life of the Romans and the techniques used for excavation. After a first digging session you'll take a break for a homemade lunch, Italian style, enjoying the beautiful countryside scenery. Afterwards, you'll get back to work with a second digging session looking for the find of the day!
