We know that coronavirus has brought new uncertainties to international travel. We want to bring peace of mind to your trip planning process by making our cancellation policy clear and easy to navigate. We've created a COVID-19 amendment to our cancellation policy.
All cancellation fees will be waived for circumstances in which you cancel your trip because you do not feel safe to travel due to COVID-19. Your refund amount depends on your specific circumstance below:
Small Group Trips
You may receive a full refund if you cancel within 120 days prior to the start of your trip. See full policy below for penalty amounts applicable to cancellations less than 120 days prior.
If you've begun planning but have not made official bookings: Any amounts paid can be applied to a future date within one year, as long as the itinerary at the time of cancellation remains largely unchanged. Any remaining planning fees will be due when new dates are selected. In this case, we of course can't guarantee availability or pricing and both are subject to change. If there are any major changes to the itinerary requiring a significant amount of effort to remedy, a supplemental planning fee may be necessary.
If you've already paid for your itinerary and official bookings have been confirmed: The same policy as above applies, except that the amount applicable to future dates depends on the cancellation policies of our individual partners. We will work with our partners to recover as much cost as possible with an aim to secure you a full refund on amounts paid or credit to apply to future dates.
If CET cancels your tour due to safety concerns in relation to coronavirus, you'll receive a full refund or the option to apply amounts paid to a future date within one year.
This policy does not apply to flights or travel insurance as they have their own policies.

Cancellation by Us
We may cancel your CET Tour, or any CET Tour at any time, without any liability whatsoever, up to sixty (60) days before departure. In doing so you will receive a full cash refund. We may also cancel your CET Tour without any liability whatsoever at any time prior to departure if, due to terrorism, natural disasters, political instability or other external events it is not viable for us to operate the planned itinerary. If we cancel your CET Tour under either of these circumstances, at our sole discretion you can receive a full refund or transfer amounts paid to an alternate departure date. In circumstances where the cancellation by CET is due to external events outside of our reasonable control, refunds will be less any unrecoverable costs that you may have incurred as a result of your booking including but not limited to visas, vaccinations, travel insurance excess or non-refundable flights. If you are asked to leave a tour for bad behavior, violence, or any other disruptive action, you will not be refunded.
Cancellation by You & Refund Policy
Cancellations must be made in writing to and are not official until the Founder, Sierra Busch, has acknowledged the cancellation. All cancellations automatically incur a cancellation fee up to $300 and no less than $150 (except for COVID-19 situations as described above).
Up to one-hundred-twenty (120) days prior to the commencement of your booked Tour: You may receive a full money value refund, less your Trip Planning Fee, a cancellation fee up to $300, and your Last Minute Trip Planning Fee (if applicable).
Between one-hundred-nineteen (119) to sixty (60) days prior to the commencement of your booked Tour: You may receive a 50% full money value refund, less a cancellation fee up to $300 and less any trip planning fees.
Between fifty-nine (59) to forty-five (45) days prior to the commencement of your Tour: You may receive 25% full money value refund, less a cancellation fee up to $300.
Less than forty-five (45) days prior to the commencement of your Tour: No money refund or credit toward any future trip with CET of any kind.
Please note that CET will not refund any payments until we have received refund monies from applicable suppliers. This can sometimes take up to sixteen (16) weeks or more, and in some cases we may not be able to recover costs from certain partners depending on their own cancellation policy.
