Together, you'll tour the historic "sassi" and learn the fascinating stories behind this intriguing city. A visit to Matera isn't complete without a refreshing pause...your hosts will take you to one of their favorite spots for a light lunch & cocktail with an incredible view before they let you loose for some free time to shop and wander. After exploring the wonderful artisan shops of Matera and perhaps satisfying your sweet tooth with some gelato, your hosts will lead you to a historic local bakery. In a 1-hour workshop, you'll learn all about the importance of bread throughout the history of the village as well as the traditional techniques to create the Matera's iconic loaf. Afterwards, you'll transfer to the agriturismo to settle in and have a homemade dinner on the farm!
