Local Rome Walking Tour
Visit a bustling market then learn about the stories hidden within a garden and cemetery– a favorite gem among locals!
About This Experience
By visiting locals' favorite places in their own city, you can get a better sense for the true atmosphere and culture of the place. On this walking tour with local guide Chiara, you'll visit a non-Catholic cemetery which is hidden even to the people of Rome. The experience unites the magic of a mysterious and secluded garden in the heart of Rome with the bustling and lively atmosphere of an everyday market where locals shop and meet.
The garden hosts the grave sites of British poets Shelley and Keats, many painters, sculptors and artists, a number of scholars and several diplomats: a unique and mystical place that offers shelter to a number of privileged cats as well. Over at Testaccio food market, you'll have the opportunity to taste a few different local specialties. For sure a glass of wine or beer can’t be missed, we suggest you taste the typical “romanella” (a popular local sparkling wine)!
Step off the beaten path for a more local atmosphere and slow down to spend some time with a local in one of their favorite neighborhoods!
