The first artisan in Arezzo to receive the official title of Master Craftsman, Mastro Santi is known for his work in "intarsia", a 7th-century technique using different colors & shades of wood fitting perfectly together to create a 3-dimensional image. Think of it as "painting" using the different colors and grains of wood. A true "Renaissance Man", Santi is also a writer, painter, carver, musician, and restorer of antique furniture. His passion is keeping this important tradition alive by passing it on to his apprentices and other students.
