Get up close and personal with Sicily’s stunning nature with a hike. Guided by an experienced nature guide, you’ll have 3 options from Easy to Advanced hikes. Please inquire for details on each option, but to give you an idea, here is the description of a Medium/Advanced hike: The starting point of this unique hiking tour is at Mount Lucerto, a natural area nearby the village of Chiusa Sclafani. From this point, you and your guide will start descending to reach the Sosio River, which serves as the border of the two provinces of Palermo and Agrigento. Continue following the banks of the river as long as you can then before changing shoes (water shoes provided) for a quick water hike to reach the other side of the river. (The river is not very deep.) Next, you'll begin climbing up the hillside to reach the remains of the Medieval Castle of Cristia - according to some historians it was founded by Muslims around the year 1000 and passed under Christian control after a few decades. Your lunch will be here in this unique setting, inside the castle walls or its ruins. After lunch and some rest, you'll return back down to the river and once you've crossed you'll finish the hike on a narrow pathway along the mountainside, enjoying many stunning views.
